The dumpling 'TAIHEI'

These dumpling called 'Mitarashi-dango' in Japan. Mitarashi is made of soy sauce and sugar.
'TAIHEI' is very small store and sells Japanese sweets, rice ball, vinegared rice rolled in dried laver, pouch of fried bean curd stuffed with vinegared rice etc..
'Mitarashi-dango' is the most popular of them. Today, most stores have been taking the rice-cake sweets with preservatives for keeping soft them . But 'TAIHEI' is particular about old taste, so the store never take them with it. If you eat them, you will discover it.

'TAIHEI' is the first store of the arcaded street, it takes 2min to go up Hirasaka from Yokosuka-chuo station.

yakitori 'Maido'

Yakitori is grilled chiken. Maido is the shop selling skewers of grilled chiken in Yokosuka. The most Maidos are close to train stations. As far as I know there are close to Maborikaigan station and Horinouchi station (Keihinkyuko line). The most yakitoris are taken out 70yen/each and eaten there 100yen/each. And Maborikaigan shop offer taken out 60yen/each on every Tuesday. They are good price and delicious. As far as I can remember, they are opened probably from evening to the last train of the nearest station.

Tsuruyayoshinobu'Tsubara Tsubara'

"Tsubara Tsubara" is a word of a traditional Japanese poetry which was written by 'Ohtomonotabibito' in 'Manyoushu'. It means "deep feeling" and "your heart's content to the full".
This japanese cake'Tsubara Tsubara' looks like 'Dorayaki' two small pancakes with bean jam in between. But it is more gentle sweet and smaller than Dorayaki. It won 'the small present grand prize' in Japanese magazine 'Brutus', so it is very famous among some fans of Japanese cakes. You can buy it at Tsuruyayoshinobu shops or its website. I bought it on B2F in Sogo Yokohama. Its price is 142yen/one.
