Sato suisan 'Grumet's rice ball of seafood"

These days, 'Sora ben' is popular among internal tourists in Japan. 'Sora ben' is the box lunch which sold at airports. One of 'Sora ben' is much talked among many tourists visited in Sapporo. The 'Sora ben' is 'Kaisen Grumet Onigiri(Grumet's rice ball of seafood).
Sapporo is a popular tourist city where we can take good seafoods in Japan. Most of Japanese would hope to visit for them, but they almost have to pay high costs for them. The Onigiri is so cheap, so big and we can easy to taste seafoods.
The photo is in 'Akiazi(Salmon)'and'Ikura(Salmon roe)'. The rice is 'Hoshi no yume' made in Hokkaido too.
It is sold 'Sora ben' store on 2F in Titose airport and the stores of Sato suisan in Sapporo.
The onigiri usually is sold out till evening at the 'Sora ben' store. So the store accept reservations for them.

a bowl of rice topped with tempura 'Iwamatsu'


'Tendon' is a bowl of rice topped with tempra.
'Iwamatsu' is a specialty restaurant of Tendon. The restaurant is across a park in front of Yokosuka city hall, it takes 5 minites to get from Yokosuka chuo station. It is an old and small restaurant but it is a very famous and popular in Yokosuka.
Because the dishes are good prices and very delicious. The most Tendon is between 500 and 1,000yen.
The photo is 'Iwamatsu don(750yen)' made of fried 2 shrimps, a mixture of vegetable bits, a pumpkin, a eggplant, a green pepper and a lotus root on rice. I took it out and dished up them into a bowl. The bowl is not a container of the restaurant.
The restaurant has English menu. You can take the dishes out.

Starbuckscoffee'Bring My Cup'


Do you know how you can get a discount when you buy some beverages at Starbuckscoffee in Japan? You only bring your cup. If you bring your cup for your ordering beverage, they repay you 20yen. It is promotion to decrease disposabled cups for ecology.

Usukawataiyaki no 'Taikichi' (Taiyaki shop)


'Taiyaki' is a fish-shaped pancake stuffed with bean jam. This is a popular sweets in Japan. And Taiyaki is popular now. There is an opinion in Japan that a recession raise a Taiyaki boom. Because Taiyaki is model on a sea bream which brings people good fortune in Japan.
The mold of Taiyaki are 2 types the wild fish and the farmed fish. The wild fish is made only one from a mold and the famed fishs are made all together from a mold.

'Taikichi' is in the food court 2F Daiei Yokosuka. Taiyaki is just popular sweets so they used to be old unrefined sweets. But the Taikichi's Taiyaki are made warmth and polite. They seem make a modern style. The photo is not with bean jam but custard cream(140yen). They are good not only style but also taste.

Tofu maker 'Kamakurakomachi'

'Kamakurakomachi' is a popular bean curd('Tofu') maker. The branch restaurant of the maker is close to JR Zushi station. It takes walk 5min to get from the station.
The left side photo is 'Yuba-sushi'(1,160yen seasonth specially price). Yuba is a delicacy composed of fresh of the skin of soybean milk.

Next one photo is 'Komachi parfait'(620yen) which is decorated soy milk cakes, soy milk puddings and soy milk rice-flour dumplings.
All of dishes are made of healthy tofu.

The dumpling 'TAIHEI'


These dumpling called 'Mitarashi-dango' in Japan. Mitarashi is made of soy sauce and sugar.
'TAIHEI' is very small store and sells Japanese sweets, rice ball, vinegared rice rolled in dried laver, pouch of fried bean curd stuffed with vinegared rice etc..
'Mitarashi-dango' is the most popular of them. Today, most stores have been taking the rice-cake sweets with preservatives for keeping soft them . But 'TAIHEI' is particular about old taste, so the store never take them with it. If you eat them, you will discover it.

'TAIHEI' is the first store of the arcaded street, it takes 2min to go up Hirasaka from Yokosuka-chuo station.

yakitori 'Maido'


Yakitori is grilled chiken. Maido is the shop selling skewers of grilled chiken in Yokosuka. The most Maidos are close to train stations. As far as I know there are close to Maborikaigan station and Horinouchi station (Keihinkyuko line). The most yakitoris are taken out 70yen/each and eaten there 100yen/each. And Maborikaigan shop offer taken out 60yen/each on every Tuesday. They are good price and delicious. As far as I can remember, they are opened probably from evening to the last train of the nearest station.
